Election rejection. Eleven Republican senators said they'll vote to reject Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 presidential election this week, claiming voter fraud without evidence. Vice President Mike Pence, who will oversee the ratification process, indicated this weekend that he supports the effort, which means it could be a wild first week for the 117th Congress. COVID-19 restrictions. Starting today, a number of Colorado counties, including Denver, that had been listed "red" on the state's coronavirus dial will officially be moved to "orange." Notably, that roll back will allow restaurants to resume indoor dining at 25 percent capacity. (CPR)
Gunnison homeowners. When COVID-19 arrived in Colorado this past spring, Gunnison County directed all part-time residents to leave—a ruling that effectively banned non-resident property owners. Hoping to fight back against the controversial decision, a number of those homeowners decided to try and influence area elections. (High Country News)
