Avalanche deaths. Over the past couple days, three people died in avalanches while backcountry skiing in Colorado. One man was buried by a slide near Crested Butte and two more people got caught in a rush of snow near Ophir Pass. Only six people total died in avalanches last ski season in the state. Safe-camping sites. In recent weeks, two safe-camping sites for people experiencing homelessness have opened at churches in the the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
