The Grizzly Rose. Videos taken at the popular Denver dance hall and bar showed hundreds of mostly maskless guests completely disregarding social distancing requirements and public health orders. The owner of the Rose said he would temporarily close the venue while he reevaluates the best way to operate safely. (Denver 7)
Mussel(ed) out. On Monday, Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced that the state's waterways are officially free of invasive zebra and quagga mussels, making it the first state to get rid of the troublesome species after having hosted them. Officials say rigorous inspections of boats coming from other states kept mussels from taking over Colorado lakes and harming other aquatic life. (Denver Post)
Healthcare heroes. Colorado currently has COVID-19 relatively under control—at least compared to other states. So when hospitals in California, which is one of the hardest hit areas by the disease at the moment, sent out a plea for aid, nurses and doctors from Kaiser Permanente decided to head west to help.
